JUNIOR'S PROGRAM
MPRA is very proud of the Junior Rifle Program and the success that it and its members have had. This page provides information of how to join and when they meet.

Middletown Pistol and Rifle Association Inc.’s Junior Rifle Program offers an opportunity for boys and girls starting at age 10 to to participate the safe and exciting sport of competitive target shooting. No prior experience is required. You do not need your own equipment. We provide equipment and training. Through the program, kids will learn valuable life skills. These include team work, self-discipline and patience. Girls and boys compete as equals on the same team. Most importantly, the program provides valuable firearm safety training throughout our training course and ongoing instruction from our NRA Certified Instructors.
The Juniors meet Monday nights: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. is Air Rifle (starting at age 10), and 7 p.m to 9 p.m. is the .22 Caliber Rifle NRA Course of Fire (starting at age 12). The cost is minimal: $1 per night for air rifle, $2 for .22.
Parents – we welcome your participation! We depend on parent participation for supervising, coaching, scoring, and transporting our team members. Regardless of whether or not you have prior rifle experience, we could use your help.

A few words about safety…. Target shooting is one of the safest sports in America, with far lower injury rates than any contact sport. Every new team member completes a safety course. All members are required to follow strict safety standards. We have never had a shooting related injury – and we intend to keep it that way!
