MPRA RANGE REGULATIONS
1. FOLOW ALL RULES POSTED IN RANGE.
2. All firearms must be unloaded before entering the range except for concealed firearms which must remain concealed.
3. All guns on the firing line or in the rack must be open, empty and benched whenever anyone is ahead of the firing line.
4. AMMUNITION RESTRICTIONS - No magnums or magnum loads this includes .22 magnums, 357 SIG. Pistols using bottleneck rifle cartridges may not be used. Caliber .17 either rimfire or centerfire are not allowed.
5. No shotguns or high powered rifles are allowed. Black powder rifles are OK with soft lead loads only.
6. Paper targets or targets expressly designed for indoor ranges only may be used. No cans, balloons or trick shooting unless approved by E board for special events.
7. The range is for the use of members and guests only. Range is not for commercial use.
A. A member may bring a maximum of 2 (two) guests at one time and is responsible for the guests conduct.
B. A member may not fire when his or her guest are firing.
C. If you bring a guest you must sign in and out in the book by the phone including the names of each guest. Do not write “Guest”, Name of Guest is required. This is an INSURANCE REGULATION).
8. If someone is already using the range when you get here, that person is in charge until he/she/they are finished.
9. A shooting guest may come to the range only two (2) times a year
10. All persons must wear eye and ear protection in the range area when firing is in progress.
11. Targets must be hung from holders at the backstop or at the 25’ mark.
12. Competitors may not sight in a gun (practice) within two hours before a match.
13. The City of Middletown Police have the use of the range from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. Monday to Friday. It is usually posted ahead of time on the black board and is usually posted on the door with magnetic signs. DO NOT DISTURB THEM AND KEEP OUT!!!! It is part of our agreement with the City of Middletown and they have the right to use the range during that time.
14. Phone is the property of the Middletown Police Department. Emergency use only at all times.
15. No horseplay, alcohol or drug use is permitted.
16. Smoking is not permitted in the building.
17. Food and/or beverages are not permitted in the range area during shooting activities.
18. Make sure all lights, exhaust fans, water and heat are off before you leave.
19. Report all problems with the building to the Executive Officer, note in log book. If someone violates these rules or not acting in a safe manner it must be reported to the E Board immediately. Please give date and time of incident so it can be researched. Make notation on board by phone or call any E Board member.
20. Make sure all doors are locked when you leave.
21. Please keep the range clean and sweep all used cartridges before you leave range.
THESE RULES ARE INTENDED TO MAKE OUR RANGE SAFE FOR ALL MEMBERS. SCHEDULED EVENTS TAKE PRESIDENCE OVER OPEN SHOOTING AT RANGE
